Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of digital financial literacy and employees’ financial behavior on reducing financial stress and enhancing workplace well-being among employees of the State Livestock Affairs Logistics Organization. This applied, quantitative study employed a descriptive-correlational survey design. The statistical population consisted of 150 employees with at least a bachelor’s degree working in the financial, administrative, information technology, and strategic planning units of the State Livestock Affairs Logistics Organization. A total of 120 employees were selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring digital financial literacy, financial behavior, financial stress, and workplace well-being. The measurement model was evaluated using convergent validity, average variance extracted, Cronbach’s alpha, and composite reliability. Given the non-normal distribution of the data, the hypothesized relationships were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS. Financial behavior had a significant negative effect on financial stress (β = −0.220, t = 2.047, p = 0.041) and a significant positive effect on workplace well-being (β = 0.378, t = 3.483, p = 0.001). Digital financial literacy also exerted a significant negative effect on financial stress (β = −0.561, t = 5.525, p < 0.001) and a significant positive effect on workplace well-being (β = 0.222, t = 2.077, p = 0.038). Collectively, digital financial literacy and financial behavior explained 53.8% of the variance in financial stress and 30.5% of the variance in workplace well-being. The overall goodness-of-fit index was 0.517, indicating a strong fit of the structural model. Digital financial literacy and responsible financial behavior constitute important organizational and individual resources for mitigating employees’ financial stress and enhancing workplace well-being. Accordingly, targeted interventions focusing on personal financial management, budgeting, saving, expenditure control, and the informed and secure use of digital financial tools may improve employees’ financial capabilities and occupational well-being and should therefore be considered within organizational human resource development programs.
