Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of explaining the entrepreneurial model in petrochemical industries and identifying the key components and mechanisms influencing the development of organizational entrepreneurship in this sector.
Methods and Materials: The present research is applied in terms of purpose and exploratory qualitative in terms of approach, conducted using the grounded theory method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 experts, including senior managers, specialists, and professionals in the petrochemical industry. Sampling was carried out purposively and theoretically, and data analysis was performed in three stages—open coding, axial coding, selective coding—and constant comparative analysis.
Findings: The results led to the identification of five key components: transformational leadership, technological infrastructure, innovative organizational culture, empowered human resources, and a flexible organizational structure. The findings indicated that despite the presence of technology in some organizations, cultural and structural barriers are among the most significant obstacles to innovation. Furthermore, transformational leadership and employee empowerment were identified as the most important facilitating factors of entrepreneurship.
Conclusion: Achieving entrepreneurship in petrochemical industries requires a holistic and localized approach that simultaneously addresses human, cultural, technological, and structural dimensions. The proposed model can serve as a strategic framework for enhancing innovation and competitiveness in capital-intensive industries.
